This is one of the first Super Twin’s with their own serial number series, starting at 2500 in 1964. I purchased this beautiful thing from Barry Nichol, a guitar tech who’s worked with various different bands over the years, and picked out some of the greatest gear to keep in his collection. This is one of the legendary ‘Westrex’ assembled chassis’, with 3x original transformers inside, and even the original egg footswitch.
This is an early one with the smooth tolex, and the single handle in the middle. What is more is that awesome aftermarket top boost addition to the rear, added sometimes in the 1980s by the look of it, and the valves are all later replacements of a similar era. I’ve had it recently serviced to a very good standard, and it’s ready to go. This is definitely one heck of an amplifier, that is a brilliant example at that! You’ll not be disappointed.
