I’m THRILLED to announce the sale of a 60+ year collection coming through The Music Locker. This collection spans all decades from the 60s to the present day. They have been collected by a true lover of vintage. This particular guitar is a 1990 Gibson Thunderbird bass guitar that was purchased brand new in 1990 from Sam Ash Music in New York. It’s been the favourite of a ‘Thunderbird obsessed’ musician for over 30 years. As you can see, he added a rather nice Drop-D tuning machine head that drops the E string to D at a simple flick. The bass is in very good condition, but has been a work horse for 30 + years, so it does have scuffs on it as you can see. Comes complete with the original hard case, of which the handle has slightly broken but still holds as it should.
Please bear in mind the following – each guitar in the collection has been stored in a loft for decades. Therefore will require a clean and re-string. I can give the buyer two options. Firstly I can send as it is pictured to you, and you get it cleaned and restrung yourselves. Or I can do it this side when it has sold but this will add a week on to the dispatch time.
